Family Scripture Study Journal

I have been reading the general conference talks the past week or two and have noted how many of the talks mention writing down our thoughts and impressions that come from the spirit. Many times my thoughts and impressions come from reading the scriptures, so I have wondered about having a notebook to use as a family scripture study journal. In the past I have had the kids write down lists of things to be grateful for, ways to provide service to others, and even how to keep specific commandments. But I have never saved any of these. Now I think I will start a journal in which we can write such things down, and also try to write down specific impressions we have in applying the scriptures to our daily life. I will let you know how it goes...

  1. It's a great idea, though I'm really having a hard time getting it to come together into a single book! I've got stuff in my regular journal, stuff in my commonplace book (a sort of reading journal), and a little bit in my Conference journal, some in my notebook that I keep my scripture study stuff in.... I've got to get it developed into a unified system. But it's so nice to be able to see what you were thinking about, before. It keeps things fresh and reduces the number of repeated "lessons" the Lord has to give me. I like that!

  2. I like writing them down...but at the same time, they're never in an organized sense (inspiration doesn't come that way I guess:) ) so I don't ever re-read them. If you have any good ideas of how to make it more helpful, let me know!
