  1. There is so many, but my favorite are probably the ones you hear about his time spent with his family. I think he was such a good husband and a wonderful Dad.

  2. Stories of the time he spent with his family jumped to mind first also. I was thinking of the story of Joseph and Hyrum in the wagon on the way to jail. They couldn't see their families through the canvass covering so they stuck out their hands to comfort their wives.
Then stories of stick-pulling I like too.

  3. My son informed me last Sunday that he baptized Jesus in the river Jordan. That was a fun story. John, Joseph, at least he had the right letter of the alphabet!

  4. Well, besides the story of the first vision . . . I think my all time favorite is when he silences the guards in the Richmond jail. I love that! But I also love the story of having the surgery at 7. It gives you an idea of what is ahead of him and how he will face it. Also it is a fun story to tell kids. Especially the part about getting a quart of puss from his shoulder. (Before the infection moved to his leg) I put vanilla pudding in a quart jar as my visual. It totally grosses them out.:-)

  5. I really like the story where Joseph gave a man (a former slave) his horse to sell so that he could pay a fee and get his son out of jail. I love how he masterfully found a balance between justice and mercy.
