Visiting Teaching Question

What's the nicest thing a Visiting Teacher has ever done for you?

  1. My most recent visiting teacher has come over at least once a week over the last four months to help break me out of my developing agoraphobia. After I was sick for several months and my house was a wreck, she came over and helped me clean it for three hours.

  2. Mine stopped by on the day I was preparing for a party. I happened to mention being out of paper to print things for the party, so she ended up taking all my stuff to Kinko's and copying it for me. Then she brought back a ream of paper too!

  3. I have to say first of all that I was lucky enough to have had the best visiting teachers EVER for the last 5 years. It was Christmas Eve day and I was trying to get everything ready for the Christmas Day brunch to be held at my house. I realized that I didn't have a napkin holder for the table. The doorbell rang and I opened it to find my visiting teachers standing there with a napkin holder and the cutest napkins I had ever seen. They didn't know that I needed them. I hadn't called them. They just knew me. That's what meant the most.

  4. I can still remember the first meal I received after coming home from the hospital with Dallas. It was amazing, delicious, and there was a lot of time and effort put into it. I loved those visiting teachers. Then fast forward a few years later and another visiting teacher asked if she could bring me dinner after a surgery. Of course I said yes. And she forgot. And I actually called to ask her about it because I was so hungry and didn't want to make dinner if she was bringing some. So she quickly grabbed some take out and brought it over. It was nice, and she felt bad. But that paled in comparison to that first V.T. dinner (with love and effort behind it). This makes me think I need to be a better V.T. Thanks for the reminder Rebecca!

  5. Surprise me with a huge boquet of flowers on my Birthday. And she was my new visiting teacher at the time and we really did not know each other well. i was so surprised since no one ever remembers my birthday.
