My Birthday Part 2 and a Giveaway

So yesterday evening was present time. I have certainly had better years for gifts. Here's the scoop:

From Patch I received this (which I like).
From Sweetie Peach I received this:She thinks it is my favorite cereal. It's not, but I do eat it often. She is sweet to know that.

From Kitty I got a Christmas snow globe. But right after she gave it to me she dropped it and it broke on the floor. She also helped pick out a candle that smells like vanilla ice cream, which was from everyone. You can see the candle in the next pic.

From Steve I got this:At first I thought it was a laundry basket. Actually, I think it is. But it came with this bike thing so I can strap it on the back of my bike to carry a bag of groceries. Really, this was not what I was envisioning when I said I wanted baskets for my bike. I tried to be gracious and thank him nicely. Hopefully he bought it...

BTW we also went to the movies last night like I mentioned in yesterday's post. We went to Cinemark and they have a great deal for families on Monday nights for FHE. Tickets are all $5.50 and you get a free junior popcorn with each ticket! We had a fun time watching Madagascar 2 at a rockin' price.

So I think I will do a poll: which gift would you most like to have received for your birthday? I know they are all completely desirable, so you can't choose all of them. Make sure you vote in the poll on the sidebar! And just to make it extra fun, if you vote and leave a comment here, I will do a drawing for a free box of Cheez-it Party Mix! Winner to be announced on Friday. Good luck!

  4. Oh gosh! I'm sorry you didn't get what you wanted for your birthday. I'm so glad that you were able to go to the movie.

  5. So, did he read your blog and find out that you wanted a basket for your bike or did you mention it? At least it was something for your bike, not well thought out, but... One year my husband bought me exercise clothes (hmmm, did he think I was fat and needed to exercise?) and some huge, and I mean humongous underwear to wear with my exercise clothes. When I asked him why he got me such large undies, he said he didn't know what size I was and got some that looked like they would fit (yeah, an elephant!). I told him next time just ask!

  6. That last comment was from me, Wendy Phelps. It looks like I am logged in as my nephew Chase who was at my home today. Sorry. I didn't notice until after I published the comment.

  7. I say snow globe. Too bad it broke. But Chex mix is good. The basket is cracking me up. Let us know if you get it to work on your bike. If it actually works properly, that may be my favorite!

  8. I did not have him look at my blog, but I did tell him I wanted baskets for my bike so I could carry groceries. I guess I needed a picture to show him. Thanks to my friend Jen the baby seat got removed, though, too. Now I just need that thingy attached so I can see if the basket will work.

  9. I would pick the snack mix. I ALWAYS get Malted Milk Balls for every birthday. I'm thinking of having a 'food storage' Christmas and having each kid get me a case of their favorite food. (Cheerios, Mac & Cheese, you get the idea)

  10. Oh wow, Becky. This was quite the birthday. Mom gifts are so fun, don't you think. You MUST check out Kaboodle, a way to make online wishlists. I save tons of things that I would like, in the course of surfing the internet. Then I e-mail him the link to my list. Repeatedly. Like every day. So he gets the hint. Let me know if you need some help getting that awesome bike basket on! I'll run right over. Thanks for the morning laugh.

  11. Ok, I've never commented here before, but I have to say that I would've jumped up and kissed my hubby if I got the rack and the basket! But then I'm a cycling nut right now.

I paid way too much for my pannier and since then I've seen wonderful do-it-yourself stuff like your hubby picked. Love them!! Just check to see how much weight you can carry on the the rack.

    Enjoy!

  12. I say we all just surrender ourselves to getting jack squat for every holiday and then we'll be pleasantly surprised by high-end gifts like the "pedi-egg". Sigh. :)

  13. I have to tell you I was LOL by the basket :). I know since you are a cub scout mama you can make it work. But my vote is definitely the Fiber One Cereal. Chalk that up for 2 Points !!!
